Choi. Eun Jun Eun Jun Choi — Industrial / Product Designer
"Where aesthetic vision meets uncompromising feasibility."
I believe that good design proves itself in reality. As an industrial designer, I focus on bridging the gap between creative imagination and practical feasibility. By continuously validating concepts through 1:1 scale mockups and rigorous technical research, I strive to turn compelling ideas into tangible solutions. Explore my timeline to see how I bring designs to life across products, brands, and interactive experiences.

This project began by questioning modern stretchers that compromise their core purpose—safe and rapid patient transport—for the sake of lightweight storage.
Drawing insights from operating U.S. Army rescue equipment during my KATUSA service, I designed a stretcher that flexes along the patient’s hip joints. This allows rescuers to navigate extreme disaster environments, such as curved tunnels and steep slopes, which are inaccessible with conventional rigid stretchers.
Selected as a National Finalist for the James Dyson Award 2026. Although we did not place in the final Top 3, our team successfully passed the highly competitive preliminary rounds to reach the national on-site judging stage. We had the valuable opportunity to present our working prototype directly to the panel of expert judges, receiving recognition and constructive feedback on the project's practical viability.

Driven by the need for efficient personnel and information management in the advanced military, we developed an offline tactical scanner system embedding NFC chips into the most familiar military item: the dog tag.
Considering the military's unique nature, we maximized security through high-level offline encryption rather than external networks. My role focused on visual storytelling and designing a durable, highly intuitive reader device to precisely decode this encrypted data.

2025.06~2026.12

Serving as a Public Affairs Specialist at the U.S. Eighth Army Headquarters, I managed visual design and public relations for a massive, multinational organization of professional soldiers.
I was trained to seamlessly integrate the U.S. Army's core message, "Always Ready," into my own design language, developing practical communication skills to effectively harmonize organizational brand identity with personal creativity.

This project solved the critical issue of conventional flimsy disposable suction liner bags in operating rooms, which posed risks of medical accidents due to their unstable form.
By applying origami structures used in space satellites, I proposed a groundbreaking design that compresses for packaging but expands into a rigid structure when used. Through repetitive 1:1 scale TPU 3D printing mockups, I rigorously validated the precise mass-production requirements essential for medical devices.

Based on the vision of shifting the insurance paradigm from post-care to "proactive prevention," we designed a gyro-sensor-based wearable device for the 'Active Senior' generation who actively manages their health.
Tracking daily posture and gait to provide real-time correction solutions, the device was ergonomically engineered for continuous comfort. To eliminate the stigma of medical devices, I refined the exterior to feel like a stylish everyday fashion accessory.

Using Unity and various design software, we created a casual game where players pop incoming balloons. Through this, I gained the core XR interaction insight that maximizing user immersion in a virtual space paradoxically requires highly precise reflections of real-world physics.
